Murray Happy Hatters

Merry Murray Happy Hatters
We have a women only group called Happy Hatters. We get together every month (wearing red and purple) just to have fun! We take trips; go to lunch; hostess teas for the seniors at the Center; or play Bunco. To qualify as a member, one must be at least 50 years old. There is a small one-time fee of $5.00.
We will play Bunco on Wednesday, February 15th at 12:30 in the Old Exercise Room. Please sign up on the Happy Hatters bulletin board. We will need volunteers to bring refreshments. Barbara Durr will coordinate the event.
Mark your calendars! On March 28th, you are invited to have tea at Teri's house. More information will be in the March newsletter. (I will be VERY ready to see you all!)

ROMEOS (Retired Old Men Eating Out)

Romeos Club
A group for men has been formed called the Romeos Club. It stands for "Retired Old Men Eating Out"! We even have our own hats! Once each month, we go to a different restaurant for lunch--including trips to the lake and to TN. We travel in the Murray Senior Citizens Center van. All are welcome (except retired old women). We will have lunch at Cindy's in Dover, TN on Friday, February 17th. Plan to leave the Center at 10:30am. Transportation donations will be accepted. Please sign up at Teri's bulletin board.
Caregivers' Support Group
Caregiving is a painful job. In many instances a family caregiver is doing the job all alone, regardless of the physical, emotional and financial costs. Caregiver support Groups can be effective in helping caregivers recognize the fact that they have needs, too. A support network validates that it is "OK" to have needs and seek help in meeting those needs, in order to maintain ones own quality of life. It is therapeutic to learn that you are not alone--to discover there are others in the room with you who share a similar situation with you. Support Group members will listen to your frustrations and understand your pain. [From 9/01 Family Caregivers Newsletter] If you are interested, please join us the 3rd Monday of each month at 12:30pm in the Small Education Room. See Teri for more information.
